Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies 50th Anniversary Brunch Celebration

Saturday, October 11, 2024 from 11am - 2pm - South Foundation Hall Atrium - check out this newly renovated architectural gem!

The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. In 1975, Oakland University created the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS). Over the years, the name of the degree has changed, but its purpose has remained the same - creating pathways for students to earn a bachelor's degree by making their passion their plan. We hope that you will be able to join us at events throughout the year to celebrate. Before we send out the invitations, we'd love to get your feedback.  Please take a few minutes to fill out this Alumni Interest Form. Then, in the coming weeks, look for an official invitation to our 50th Anniversary Brunch Celebration. We hope you all can make it!

Gender and Sexuality Center

Thursday, October 9th in the Oakland Center. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with dinner to be served at 6:00 PM.

The Gender and Sexuality and Center will be kicking off Alumni Weekend with a celebration of our campus LGBTQ+ community and the critical allies who have helped us in the fight along the way. The GSC's 20th Anniversary Ga(y)la will bring together generations of student leaders, staff and faculty, and beloved community members in celebration of the unbroken chain of LGBTQ+ activism spanning from the 1970s to today. Current students, alumni, current/former faculty and staff, and their families (chosen or legal) are invited to join us for this FREE event. Click here to RSVP.
