The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. In 1975, Oakland University created the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS). Over the years, the name of the degree has changed, but its purpose has remained the same - creating pathways for students to earn a bachelor's degree by making their passion their plan. We hope that you will be able to join us at events throughout the year to celebrate. Before we send out the invitations, we'd love to get your feedback.  Please take a few minutes to fill out this Alumni Interest Form. Black Alumni Chapter Sponsored Events

Reunion Weekend is quickly approaching! The Black Alumni Chapter is hosting a "Campus Kickback" bonfire. Join us on Saturday, October 11, 2025, for food and fellowship! We are celebrating the legacy of Glenn McIntosh and supporting Black and Alumni-owned businesses and our Legacy 74 Giving Society. Please note that this will be a cashless environment.

To honor his legacy, the Black Alumni Chapter will host a Celebration of Glenn McIntosh during the Alumni Reunion Weekend events. The celebration will include a program and light jazz music. The BAC had an advocate, partner and friend in Glenn. He will forever be a giant in our community. He gave so much of himself and never left anyone without them feeling heard, seen and valued. Our prayers and heartfelt condolences are extended to the McIntosh family and all of the individuals that he touched.

The Gender and Sexuality and Center will be kicking off Alumni Weekend with a celebration of our campus LGBTQ+ community and the critical allies who have helped us in the fight along the way. The GSC's 20th Anniversary Ga(y)la will bring together generations of student leaders, staff and faculty, and beloved community members in celebration of the unbroken chain of LGBTQ+ activism spanning from the 1970s to today.
