Chapter 4: Implementation - Turning Vision into Action
Phased Approach
Implementation will occur in stages, aligning with enrollment, funding, and opportunity:
- Phase 1 (2025–2028): Classroom modernization, pilot housing projects, and sustainability upgrades.
- Phase 2 (2028–2032): Expansion of research facilities, residence life improvements, and mobility projects.
- Phase 3 (2032–2035): Completion of long-term sustainability and technology initiatives.
Each phase will deliver visible improvements that advance the student experience while maintaining flexibility for future needs.
Governance and Accountability
Leadership will oversee progress through a Campus Planning Committee, ensuring that priorities align with institutional goals. Annual reviews will measure outcomes in space utilization, student satisfaction, energy use, and community impact. A public-facing dashboard will promote transparency and engagement.
Partnerships for Progress
Realizing this plan will require collaboration;across academic departments, administrative divisions, and community partners. OU will seek creative partnerships with local governments, foundations, and industry to fund and implement key initiatives.
A Living Document
Campus Plan 2035 is designed to evolve. As needs change, the plan will adapt;guided by data, feedback, and a steadfast commitment to the university’s mission. Its living nature ensures that OU will remain both grounded in its heritage and open to new possibilities.
