Joel Sellentine

Joel Sellentine is the Founder and CEO of KARMA jack, a nationally recognized digital marketing agency headquartered in Ferndale. Under his leadership, KARMA jack has helped multi-location and national brands accelerate growth through strategic marketing, AI integration, SEO, paid media, creative storytelling and customer acquisition built for measurable impact. He is also a co-owner of Rootless Coffee Co., and holds a quieter stake in Jadelyn Estates, a real estate and event venue business. Most of his time, energy, and over-caffeination goes to KARMA jack.
With more than two decades of entrepreneurial and marketing experience, Sellentine is known for turning complex business and marketing challenges into clear, actionable strategies. His approach blends data-driven decisions with authentic brand storytelling, helping organizations connect with their audiences and grow with discipline.
A proud Oakland University alumnus and former member of the OU cross country team, Sellentine remains active in supporting the university, area schools, and local nonprofits. KARMA jack is the title sponsor of the KARMA jack Golden Grizzlies Festival of Races, held annually at Oakland University to promote health, connection and student support.
Sellentine also launched the KARMA jack Marketing and AI Internship Program with OU, pairing students with live agency accounts and the AI tools used in production. He believes student access to real workflows, not simulations, is the fastest path to a competitive edge after graduation.
Sellentine digs into entrepreneurship, AI, leadership, branding, and growth strategy. His sessions cover practical AI adoption, performance marketing, brand building for service businesses, and mentoring the next generation of communicators and marketers.
As a member of Oakland University's Professional Advisory Council, Sellentine looks forward to supporting students, faculty, and the broader CJPR community through mentorship, collaboration, and industry insight.
