Disability Support Services
Welcome to Disability Support Services.
Disability Support Services (DSS) views disability as an essential part of diversity, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for students with disabilities. We offer comprehensive support through accommodations, advocacy and referral, help students understand university policies and practices, and partner with faculty and staff to help cultivate the full potential of our students.
If you are a student at Oakland University and you have a disability that substantially limits a major life activity, you can register with DSS and you may be eligible to receive accommodations.
Laws:
State and federal law, including the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities Act and University policy protect “qualified persons with disabilities” from discrimination in education and employment.
