These resources empower students to achieve academic success, get connected to the university and learn how to successfully stay on track academically.
Writing Support
The Oakland University Writing Center is open to OU students, faculty and staff in all majors. The center provides support for writers to explore ideas, revise drafts and develop the skills to craft polished works.
Career and Life Design Center
The Career and Life Design Center offers events to help students explore career opportunities beyond their academics. They offer help with resumes, career fairs and events and provide customized tools to secure internships and jobs.
Academic Success Center (ASC)
The Academic Success Center offers free services to OU students to help build better study habits. The ASC can help with time management and planning, strategies for math and science courses, navigating Moodle and online courses, and preparation for exams.
First Year Advising Center
The First Year Advising Center supports new students in the transition to college. They provide services and connections to campus resources that empower students to define their educational goals and achieve academic success.
OU Counseling Center
The Oakland University Counseling Center provides high quality, short-term, confidential counseling to deal with a diverse and changing world. Also offered are testing, consultation, crisis intervention and outreach designed to help students to overcome emotional challenges to meet their intellectual, interpersonal and developmental goals.
Graham Health Center
The Graham Health Center provides high quality, cost-effective health care and health education to the Oakland University Community.
Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is committed to helping you and your family navigate the cost of your Oakland University education.
Center for Multicultural Initiatives (CMI)
The Center for Multicultural Initiatives provides support for underrepresented students and fosters an appreciation for campuswide diversity. All CMI programs and services aim to create a diverse, inclusive and vibrant campus.
University Recreation and Well-Being
University Recreation and Well-Being offers an array of activities to help students stay strong and healthy. Membership is included in tuition. In addition to well-being activities, students can use their memberships to engage in group exercise classes or intramural and club sports.
Gender and Sexuality Center
The Gender and Sexuality Center is a student-centered campus resource which works to celebrate, affirm and empower LGBTQIA+ members of the OU community.
