Am I eligible to stay in on-campus housing at Oakland University?

Oakland Community College (OCC) students enrolled in at least six credit hours at OCC during the semester they wish to live on Oakland University’s (OU’s) campus are eligible for on-campus housing at OU, subject to space availability.

Is the cost of housing at OU covered by financial aid I have received from OCC?

No, your financial aid from OCC will not directly cover the cost of housing at OU.

Since OCC and OU are separate institutions, financial aid awarded through OCC cannot be applied directly to your OU housing charges. Your aid will first be disbursed to OCC and used to cover your tuition and fees there.

If any funds remain after that, OCC may issue you a refund, and you can choose to use that refund as you see fit, including using it toward payment of housing costs at OU -- but please note that refunds are typically not released until midway through the semester.

If you have questions about your financial aid, please contact:
