Now is the time to complete the 2026-27 FAFSA application

The 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available at studentaid.gov/fafsa. 

Oakland University students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to become eligible for federal, state and institutional aid, including grants, scholarships, loans and the federal work-study program. 

“I know it feels like we just started this school year, but now is the time to complete the 2026-2027 FAFSA for next school year,” said OU’s Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships Nicole Boelk. “Early completion of the FAFSA allows us to provide financial aid offers to students before registration begins, in March, for next fall semester.”

Current or prospective OU undergraduate and graduate students who need help completing the FAFSA can call, email or visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to speak with an adviser or register for a virtual FAFSA Workshop. OUWB medical students who need help renewing their FAFSA can visit OUWB Financial Services.
