This year's State of the University: A Community Conversation will be delivered in a new format from years past. The address is going virtual this year with no specific event to attend, but rather with the idea of creating fellowship opportunities during individual departmental watch parties that will be held between October 22 and 29.

President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz said of the change, “I hope this year’s unique format will provide time for department leaders and their respective teams to come together and celebrate the past year’s successes, discuss opportunities for positive changes in the future and recommit to the mission and values of Oakland University.”

During the week, leaders will gather with staff to view The State of the University report from President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz and watch a short video titled “Oakland University: Where You Belong.” Then, the meetings will be open to discussion.

Staff members are encouraged to check with their supervisors for the time and place of the State of the University viewing for their particular unit as these dates/times will vary.

The video with be distributed on the morning of October 22 and the president’s report will be available on the president’s website on or shortly after October 22.
