Admission

With a Master of Business Administration from Oakland University’s School of Business Administration, you will receive a well-rounded education from leading professors and researchers in their fields and learn with fellow students from diverse business and personal backgrounds.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution is required for admission to the MBA program.

GMAT Policy

The GMAT/GRE is not required if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • Earned a master’s degree or higher with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or have an acceptable score on the GRE, LSAT, or MCAT entrance exam
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 from an AACSB-accredited business school
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in any major with an overall GPA of at least 3.2 from a regionally accredited program
  • Completed a business-related certification such as CPA, CFA, CFP or FRM
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant professional work experience and an undergraduate overall GPA of at least 2.75
  • Have completed at least 3 years of service in the US Armed Services
  • If an applicant does not meet any of the above criteria, it is recommended that they connect with the Graduate Business Programs Office to discuss GMAT preparation and/or other options to be considered for admission.

The application process requires submission of the following:

  • Online Application for Admission from the Graduate School
  • Curriculum Vitae or Resumé - uploaded after online application is submitted
  • One email address for an individual who will write your recommendation - added after online application is submitted
  • Official transcripts from all previous colleges and universities attended sent to OU

International students who have not earned a baccalaureate degree from a U.S. college or university will have additional application requirements:

  • A transcript evaluation (for transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States)
  • TOEFL Exam Scores [for non-native English speakers unless they have a baccalaureate degree from a U.S. college or Oakland University non-matriculating students (guest students) who have earned a minimum of 12 academic credits in OU courses with a grade of B or above.]
  • Please note, international students in the US on an F1 vis or seeking F1 visa to enter cannot be admitted and enrolled in the 100% online program

Admission Deadlines

All applicants will be assessed resident tuition rates for the 100% online MBA program.
