Employable Skills Training

The Pre-employment Skills Training for adults impacted by autism and similar neurodiversity is an intensive program with strong focus on:

  • Workplace Readiness (professional communication, self-motivation, team work, punctuality, accepting and implementing feedback)

  • Understanding employment (career options, resumes, applications, interviewing, networking, maintaining a job)

  • Independent living skills (hygiene, budgeting, daily living and planning, community understanding, goal setting)

  • All aspects of training focus on building employment readiness and professionalism that will help individuals transition into the workplace.

I haven’t held a job before, is that okay?
Yes, we have supported many individuals who do not have previous employment experience.

What are some of the main themes that will be focused on in the program?
This program focuses on workplace readiness, understanding employment, and independent living skills. 

I’m currently working, but having trouble getting a better job, could this program be a good fit for me?
Yes, we have supported individuals who are practicing for promotions and employment that fits their skills and educational backgrounds. 

I’m in college right now, and need to practice skills that would help me to be the best student I can be, can that be supported in the program?
Yes, we have supported many college students, including those currently in college, recent graduates, and those needing a break. 

I would only be able to attend this program 2 days a week, is that okay?
In order to participate in this program, you will need to make a commitment to attend the full season. 

All applicants must first apply, then participate in an interview prior to being accepted into the Pre-Employment Skills Training program.
