Fred Killeen
Fred Killeen is a retired executive with a 21-year tenure at General Motors, where he concluded his career as Vice President of Global Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, he led GM’s global IT strategy, managing the company’s technological infrastructure, enterprise systems, and IT operations across 27 countries. He spearheaded initiatives to drive digital transformation, enhance operational efficiency, and advance GM's enterprise technology innovation programs.
Before his appointment as CIO, Killeen served as GM’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), where he established and directed the company’s global information security and IT risk management programs, leading efforts to safeguard GM’s critical assets and ensure compliance with evolving global security standards. Simultaneously, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he drove the adoption of emerging technologies to optimize manufacturing, supply chain, and product development processes.
Earlier in his GM career, Killeen held leadership positions that included Director of IT Operations and Infrastructure and the Director of Business Intelligence, enabling GM to leverage data-driven insights for decision-making across key business units.Prior to his tenure at GM, Killeen spent 16 years at Hewlett-Packard, holding consulting and leadership roles that included Managing Consultant and Systems Engineer.
Killeen earned a BSEE from Michigan State University.
