Charon Morgan
Charon Morgan is the Vice President of Engineering at Autoliv, where she leads the Americas Division for Research, Development, and Engineering (RD&E). She joined Autoliv in August 2022 after a two-year tenure at Eaton, where she led the Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, Airport Lighting, and Oil & Gas Divisions. Prior to Eaton, Morgan spent over two decades in the automotive industry, holding more than 15 roles at General Motors (GM). She has led technical teams in North America, South America, and Asia Pacific, with her most recent position as the leader of Global Fuel and Diesel Systems at the GM Technical Center in Detroit, MI, and Global Product Development for GM China at the Center for Advanced Research and Science in Shanghai.
Throughout her career, Morgan has been committed to giving back to the industry, serving on various boards and committees, including the Society of Women Engineers, SAE International, and the Motor Vehicle Council. She has received multiple awards for her volunteer efforts, including the SAE Distinguished Younger Member Award in 2008 and Member of the Year in 2010. Morgan is a frequent speaker at technical conferences and guest lecturer in International Business, STEM education, and Women's Engineering advocacy, with notable involvement in Ladies Who Tech and FIRST Robotics. In 2016, she served as Chairman of the Automotive Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Automotive Safety Council (ASC), Automotive Women's Alliance, and several Engineering Boards at Oakland University.
Morgan earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics from Purdue University.
