Melissa Maloney, Soprano, holds Vocal Performance degrees from the University of Michigan (B.M) and Oakland University (M.M.) and pursues a performance career throughout the region in oratorio, recital, and chamber music. Her extensive concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Symphony No.9 and Mass in C, Bruckner's Te Deum, Arnesen's Magnificat, Handel's Jephtha, Messiah, and Ode for St. Cecilia's Day, Haydn's The Seasons, Creation, and Lord Nelson Mass, Orff's Carmina Burana, Bach's Magnificat, Mozart's Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore, Rutter's Magnificat, Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio, and Vaughan Williams' Hodie and Mass in G. As a recitalist, Ms. Maloney has presented at Marygrove College, Oakland University, and the University of Michigan, where she performed An Evening of Cabaret under the guidance of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer William Bolcom and mezzo-soprano Joan Morris. She has collaborated with The Baroque Festival of Royal Oak, Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan, University Musical Society Summer Sing Program, and Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, where she presented If These Walls Could Sing as part of the Structurally Sound series. She has also enjoyed performing in operas, operettas, and musicals, with favorite roles including Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Papagena in The Magic Flute.

Ms. Maloney has served as a lecturer and applied voice instructor at Oakland University since 2012 and is a nominee for the University's Teaching Excellence Award for the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to her appointment at OU, she served on the voice faculty at Macomb Community College. Ms. Maloney also maintains a private home studio and serves as a clinician and adjudicator for high school vocal music events and competitions throughout Michigan.
