Rick Carver
Lecturer, Theatre
[email protected]
Rick Carver is an adjunct faculty member with a bachelor degree from Oakland University and, since the year 2000, has taught Mime as well as Acting for non-theatre majors at OU.
Along with stage credits, including Audrey II Manipulator in "Little Shop of Horrors" and the Headless Hessian in "Sleepy Hollow," Mr. Carver has been a professional freelance variety artist since 1986. Utilizing magic, juggling, mime, stilt walking, physical comedy and improvisation in his bag of tricks, he entertains all ages, be it on the stage or in the street.
Rick has performed at corporate events and in many living rooms but is best known around the Great Lakes Region for his portrayal of his original Renaissance character the Idiot Ric Roc, a bumbling buffoon of bombastic beguiling. He delights audiences at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, the Indiana Renaissance Festival, the Michigan Medieval Festival and Rosenvolk German Medieval Festival, among others, with his unique brand of idioantics and improvisational mayhem and mirth.
