Success looks different for every student, each with their own academic, career, and personal goals. At Oakland University, we are committed to partnering with every student as they define their path, pursue their ambitions, and achieve their vision of success — both during their time at OU and long after graduation.
To enhance the student experience, we are currently focused on the following priorities.
Support for Students Experiencing Challenges
Implementing an integrated student support system, engaging faculty and staff in the Midterm Grades and Academic Alerts & Referrals systems, to provide timely information and resources to students.
Enhanced Academic Development and Resilience
Offering a variety of academic support opportunities for students, including tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic advising, and success coaching to help students reach their academic goals.
Enhanced Re-Enrollment Efforts
Encouraging early registration for upcoming courses, which includes improved communication and removal of non-essential holds, so students can reap the benefits of better course selection, finding courses necessary for graduation and ones at better times to accommodate work and family commitments.
