How to get started
Work with your UCM account manager to determine if podcasting aligns with your communication strategy. Support levels and turnaround times may vary depending on workload and production needs.
The Grizzly Podcast Studio, housed in Elliott Hall, is a fully equipped audio and video recording facility available to all Oakland University departments. Designed for ease and professionalism, the studio includes:
- Broadcast-quality audio with professional microphones for up to three hosts or guests
- HD multi-angle lockdown cameras for high-quality video podcasts
- 4K monitor for displaying logos or media during recordings
- Remote recording capabilities through Zoom, ideal for off-campus interviews
Podcasters, who will be editing their sessions, should bring a 1TB external hard drive for transfer - individual recorded camera feeds range from 400-600 Mb per minute.
The Grizzly Podcast Studio supports a range of needs: visitors are welcome to engage in and plan a traditional podcast or branch out into individual recordings, such as interviews or updates. Additionally, visitors can choose to use the facilities to its fullest or opt to focus on audio-only productions too.
