Biography:
Dr. Akram Khattab is a researcher in operations and supply chain management with a focus on organizational design, managerial behavior, and technology adoption. His work examines how supply chains can be designed and governed to be efficient, resilient, and responsible, with attention to transparency, sustainability, risk management, and digital technologies.
Dr. Khattab holds a Ph.D. in Manufacturing and Technology Management from the University of Toledo, a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Engineering Technology with a Minor in Mathematics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Before joining Oakland University, he held engineering positions at General Motors and Tier 1 global automotive suppliers, gaining hands-on experience in product development, launch, operations, and supply chain management.
In addition to his research and industry background, Dr. Khattab is committed to teaching and academic excellence. He is recognized as a Master Online Instructor and a certified Quality Matters Peer Reviewer, reflecting his dedication to delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction.

Dr. Khattab’s research centers on the design and governance of supply chains, the interaction between managerial controls and employee behavior, and the role of transparency, sustainability, risk management, and technology in shaping organizational outcomes. His work spans operations research, behavioral operations, logistics, and supply chain management, with the goal of understanding how firms can build systems that are efficient, resilient, and responsible. Methodologically, Dr. Khattab employs quantitative and analytical approaches, including experimental research, mathematical modeling, business analytics, and statistical analysis to examine these themes and generate insights that inform both academic scholarship and managerial practice.
