Biography:
Nivedita Mukherji received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 1992. She specializes in macroeconomics and monetary economics. Her research has been published in journals such as the International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, among others.
Teaching interests:
Nivedita Mukherji primarily teaches macroeconomics courses at the undergraduate level. She also teaches a combined macro-micro economics course and an International Economics course for the MBAs.
Research interests:
Nivedita Mukherji's research interest lies mainly in the area of macroeconomic and monetary economics theory. She has studied how optimal monetary policy depends on rationing in markets for credit. She has studied the impact of government tax and regulatory policies on the extent of informality in economies and government's net surplus. Her current research interest includes the role of patents in regional economic growth.
