Students as Partners
Pedagogical Partnership
The Pedagogical Partnerships Program connects Oakland University students and faculty to enhance teaching and learning across campus. Led by our department with Faculty Fellow Cynthia Miree, the program is co-sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs.
Student–Faculty Collaboration Program
Student partners volunteer 5–7 hours per month during the academic year, receiving training in higher education teaching and learning before engaging in structured conversations and classroom observations with faculty. These partnerships give students a meaningful voice in shaping their educational experience while supporting faculty in refining their teaching practices. If you are interested in volunteering as a student partner, complete the Student Partner Form by September 30.
Part-Time Student Employee Positions Now Available
In addition to our volunteers, we are now hiring part-time student employees to help organize and expand this program’s impact. We are seeking four Student Fellows and one Program Coordinator to support scheduling, communication, program logistics, and extended student–faculty collaboration activities. These paid positions offer the chance to develop professional skills, foster inclusive teaching, and directly contribute to improving the student learning experience. Apply below.

More about Pedagogical Partnerships
Pedagogical Partnership is an increasingly popular student-faculty teaching in higher education program, popularized by Alison Cook-Sather’s 2014 book republished as an open access book in 2019: Pedagogical Partnerships: A How-To Guide for Faculty, Students, and Academic Developers in Higher Education.
