New Student Welcome
New Student Welcome is the official celebration that brings together all new students and their families to kick off the academic year. This signature event includes a high-energy pep rally, party at Elliott Tower, and giveaways, live music, food and plenty of fun. It’s the perfect way to start your journey at OU and connect with the campus community.
Event Details
- Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2026
- Time: Festivities begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. (Doors open at 2)
- Location: Meet at the OU Credit Union O'rena between 1:30 and 2:15 pm.
- Parking: Lot P1 or Parking Structure P29; you will be directed by OU staff members
- RSVP: First-year students do not need to RSVP. Each student may bring up to two guests.
- Please note: Be sure to wear your black and gold to show your OU pride and wear comfortable shoes. This event is held rain or shine!
The afternoon begins with a festive clap-in outside the O'rena, where OU faculty and staff will cheer you on as you officially start your OU journey. From there, head inside for an exciting pep rally designed to build school spirit and get you ready for Welcome Week.

With hilarious suggestions and incredible feats, he creates a captivating and interactive performance that will leave you amazed and thoroughly entertained. |
