Teaching Interests:
Constance Burke, JD, PA-C is the Director for the University PA Science Program. The program will focus on interprofessional collaborations throughout the School of Health Sciences, School of Nursing, and OUWB School of Medicine, while honoring its foundational roots in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS). Professor Burke has over 25 years of experience as a PA, as well as 14 years in PA education.
Prior to her role at Oakland University, Prof Burke served as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, Clinical Coordinator and Coordinator of the Accelerated 5-year Physician Assistant program at the University of Detroit Mercy Physician Assistant program. While at UDM, Prof Burke was part of the team awarded grants from the Physician Assistant Education Association, SAMSHA and UDM in the areas of interdisciplinary education, diversity and Inclusion and substance abuse training in primary care. Prof Burke also served as the Academic Law Editor for the Journal of Physician Assistant Education for 7 years publishing multiple articles on legal issues of concern to Physician Assistant programs
Professor Burke continues to practice clinically with experience primarily in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention, obesity management and integrative medicine. Currently, she serves as a women’s health specialist for hormone replacement therapy and weight management and as a provider for Beaumont Wellstreet Urgent Care. Her past clinical experience includes family and internal medicine and as a provider for military and veteran health assessments.
Research/Scholarship:
Professor Burke’s research interests include diversity and inclusion in healthcare education, alternative and integrative medicine, and legal aspects of education and clinical practice.

Personal Interests:
Professor Burke lives in Macomb County with her four-legged family. She enjoys the outdoors and hopes to visit many more National Parks in the near future.
