Our Strategic Plan

Foundations for Success

Our Foundations for Success define our purpose, what we aspire to be, and the core principles that guide the work that we do.  Our values are more than just words — they embody our culture, define our behavior, and provide a compass for the decisions that we make. 

Mission

To develop compassionate physicians who are dedicated to improving the health of their communities, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

To be a leader in medical education strengthened by an innovative curriculum, commitment to diversity and inclusion, dedication to community engagement, and advancing research.

OUWB 2026-30 Strategic Plan

As the current (2022-2025) strategic plan nears completion, OUWB will begin the process of refreshing this important roadmap for the next five years and beyond starting in January 2025. This refresh will ensure that OUWB has clear goals and aligned resources to support the ongoing vision of being a leader in medical education.  

The OUWB 2026-2030 Strategic Planning Committee, representing leadership across the school, will identify priorities and make informed recommendations for OUWB’s strategic direction through 2030 and beyond.

OUWB community members and valued partners will have the opportunity to provide their input in a variety of ways including:

  • Stakeholder Survey: To be emailed to our OUWB community.
  • Virtual Town Hall Sessions: Invitations with complete details will be sent to the following groups
    • OUWB Students
    • Foundational Medical Studies and Corewell Health East Clinical Faculty
    • OUWB Staff

OUWB will communicate the status of our efforts to the community on an ongoing basis with a final goal of implementing our updated strategic plan during the 2025-26 academic year.

OUWB 2022-25 Strategic Plan

Finalized in February, 2022, the 2022-25 strategic plan is a comprehensive, targeted, and forward-thinking document aimed at driving OUWB to heightened success through 2025 and beyond.

We take great pride in the work outlined in this plan and the school’s commitment to the implementation of our strategic initiatives.
