Rationale:

To protect the privacy of students and the confidentiality of patients and patient data, classroom guests (individuals not affiliated with OUWB) must receive prior approval to attend any instructional session.

Scope and Applicability:

All students enrolled in the School of Medicine.

Standard Practice Guideline:

OUWB strives to protect its students and the confidentiality of all instructional content that is delivered in its teaching spaces. This policy aims to provide these protections, while detailing the means by which guests (e.g., prospective and future students, benefactors, etc.) can have the opportunity to observe educational sessions. 

Procedures:

Individuals not affiliated with OUWB wanting to attend an instructional session must receive prior approval from the appropriate Course, Clerkship, or Elective Director overseeing that instructional session or from the Office of the Dean.  Applicants or others interested in attending OUWB must also receive permission from the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management or their designee.
