Student Affairs offers Career Development throughout each year of your medical education at OUWB. This is in the form of online resources, in-person and recorded workshops, individual advising, and hands-on experiential learning opportunities with clinical faculty members. Take a look below to see these services described, as well as an overview of what to expect for each year, M1-M4!

Career Exploration Series

Workshops lead by OUWB Student Affairs on various career development topics, mapped to the AAMC Careers in Medicine Model: “Understand, Explore, Choose a Specialty, Land a Residency”.

Advising Meetings

Individual career counseling meetings facilitated by OUWB Student Affairs Career Advisers intended to provide guidance and support throughout your OUWB journey.

Physician Observerships

OUWB students have the ability to observe Beaumont Health Physicians to gain experience and exposure to potential career options.

Internships & Research Opportunities

Student Affairs sources and aggregates internship and research opportunities for students, specifically for M1s to pursue during the Summer following their M1 year. Additionally, opportunities for all students M1-M4 are shared through our online platform “MedSync” on a rolling basis, as opportunities become available.
